Started in May 2010, the Duracoat Expert Training Centre is an intensive course that is taught to individuals who are interested in becoming experts in the painting field. It was begun when Basco Paints, the leading manufacturer in the paint industry realised a gap in expertise in the usage and application of paint.

The Duracoat Brand which is the leading brand in premium quality paints in the region would need to then have an equally qualified painter in order to achieve the high quality finishes that the paints are designed for. Therefore the Duracoat Academy as it is more frequently referred to was conceptualised.

It comprises of an extensive one week training seminar held every alternating week at the Basco Products Headquarters. The training is conducted by a team of three highly qualified and specialised lecturers who have a wealth of experience in the Paints Industry.

The highly competitive course outline comprises of theory sessions in the morning and practical sessions in the afternoon. This means that what has been learnt in class is able to be put to the test immediately. The classes are made up of on average 30 students in order to maintain an acceptable teacher to student ratio.

The training is carried in a serene environment, with a state of the art classroom and a fully stocked workshop for practicals. Course content includes training on paints, paint application, technical aspects, surface preparation, special effects and much more.
