Product description: Duracoat Red Oxide/Zinc Chromate Primer is designed for use on interior and exterior on all iron and steel surfaces or steel structures in corrosive areas and atmospheres. Finish: Matt. Advantages: Duracoat Red Oxide/Zinc Chromate Primer is recommended for use on all iron, steel and aluminium alloys as a rust inhibiting and preserving coat. It has excellent adhesion property for subsequent top coats. Application method: By brush, spray or roller. Surface preparation: Surface must be dry, and free from dirt, grease, rust or mill scale. Rust must be removed using Duracoat Rust Remover, sanded down using emery -cloth or grinder to bare metal before applying Duracoat Red Oxide Zinc ChromatePrimer. Specification for use: On most iron and steel surfaces, one coat of Duracoat Oxide Red Oxide/Zinc Chromate Primer is adequate. This should be allowed 24 hours drying before applying Duracoat Universal Undercoat or Duracoat Royale All Purpose Undercoat. Thinning: Duracoat Red Oxide/Zinc Chromate Primer is supplied ready for use. If any thinning is required, use Mineral Turpentine or White Spirit. Do not exceed 5%. Drying time: Dust free: 2-4 hours, Recoatable 24hours. Spreading rate: 11-14 square metre per litre, depending on porosity. Pack sizes: 1 litre, 4 litres and 20litres.
