Ensure surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from dusts, grease, oil or any loose material.

New Cement or Plaster Surfaces: If the surface is dry and absorbent, the first coat should be thinned with up to 10 % of water. Follow up with one or two coats of unthinned paint. Where one coat is recommended, avoid thinning altogether.

Brick and Asbestos Surfaces: These should be sealed with one coat DuraCoat Acrylic Sealer to reduce absorption followed by two coats of DuraCoat Fungicidal Emulsion Matt.

Previously Painted Surfaces: If the existing paint work is in good condition, then the surface should be cleaned, sanded down before applying two coats of Duracoat Fungicidal Emulsion Matt.

Please note:
  1. When over coating a dark shade with a light shade, three coats may be required.
  2. On dark shades like bright Reds, Greens, Oranges, an additional coat will be required as some shades have low opacity. Alternatively, a Duracoat Emulsion Undercoat of a similar colour could be applied before applying the final coats of paint finish.
  3. Due to technical constraints, certain dark colours tend to fade if exposed to UV light especially in tropical climates. For further details contact our Technical Service department
